香港回归祖国20周年：习近平主席检阅中国人民解放军驻港部队

The CGTN, the international arm of state broadcaster CCTV, on Friday morning showed a military parade at the Shek Kong Barracks in New Territories on its Facebook feed. It was the biggest parade ever since the city’s return to China.

国家广播公司中国中央电视台国际频道中国国际电视台于星期五上午在其脸书上展示了新界石岗军营的阅兵式。此次阅兵为香港回归祖国后规模最大的一次。

"Salute to you, comrades. Salute to your dedication," shouted Mr Xi into four microphones fixed atop an open-top camouflage jeep as the vehicle slowly drove past row upon row of air, naval and land personnel.

随着习近平乘坐的敞篷迷彩吉普车缓缓驶过陆海空方阵，他对着车上的四个话筒问候：“同志们好！同志们辛苦了！”

Dressed in a dark green Mao suit, he inspected 20 squadrons, including the air force, navy, ground forces and special forces, according to state media.

据（中国）国家媒体报道，身穿深绿色中山装的习近平检阅了20个方阵，包括陆海空部队和特种部队。

Mr Xi is the chairman of China’s all-powerful Central Military Commission (CMC), the highest command for the world’s largest army.

习近平是中国最强大的中央军事委员会的主席，中央军事委员会为这支世界上规模最大军队的最高指挥部。

Professor Xu Hui of PLA’s National Defence University told CGTN on its live feed that the military inspection and parade sent an important message to "the people in Hong Kong and the mainland" about Beijing’s resolve and dedication to maintain peace and prosperity in the city.

中国人民解放军国防大学徐辉教授在中国国际电视台直播节目上表示，检阅军队向“香港和大陆人民”传递了一个重要信号，即北京坚决维持香港的和平与繁荣。

More than 3,100 officers and soldiers took part in the review, and over 100 pieces of military equipment including air defence missiles and helicopters were displayed. About 4,000 spectators from all walks of life in Hong Kong were present at the parade, according to Xinhua news agency.

据新华通讯社报道，逾3100名官兵参加了此次检阅，100余件军事设备列阵，包括防空导弹和直升机。来自香港各行各业约4000名嘉宾出席了阅兵。

Under the Basic Law, or Hong Kong’s mini Constitution, the central government is responsible for the defence of Hong Kong.
